In 2007, The Republic Golf Club was once again rated the #1 course in San Antonio by the Express-News Golf Panel - momentous praise when you consider the discerning panel members and the competition that included resorts, private courses and historic venues.   Then again, we always knew The Republic was going to lead the way when it came time to rewriting the golfing history of San Antonio.

Praised from the very beginning by a USGA official who called it one of the best designed facilities in Texas, The Republic is impressing more than one member of the USGA as it is the qualifying site for the Valero Texas Open, The AT&T Championship, and the U.S. Senior Open.  Its wide fairways and open greens contribute to the course's character, but it is the layout that simply defines it as solid golf.
